SF -9.5 (2.5u) - i smell a blowout of epic proportions. Maybe its because of Cleveland's miserly win over the hapless Seahawks, i'm thinking like the rest of the public. The niners off a bye with Harbough given an extra week to scheme the Brown's weaknesses....oh, and Braylon Edwards is due back this sunday.....i'm just sayin. Browns 0 - 49ers 33. **WINNER**

BUF -4.5 (1u) - 2 teams going in opposite directions. The loss of Moss and a QB that can't read defenses while holding onto the ball too long, spells a recipe for Redskin disaster. Redskins 14 - Bills 35. **WINNER**

NE -2.5 (1u) - Steelers have lost to the above .500 teams they've played and have won only vs. sub or equal to .500 teams. Patriots 33-Steelers 21. LOSS

DAL +3 (1.5u) - I'll side with team with the better QB, better offense and better defense. Reid's record off a bye is my only concern. Cowboys 28- Eagles 21. LOSS

MIA +7.5 (2.5u) - bettin that the Jets will duplicate their play from last year when they got demolished by the Patriots and lost SU as favorites vs. the Fins.  This year they face the Fins again after an emotional defeat by the Pats a week earlier.  The other stat i like is winless teams (0-4 or worse) are a 22-3 ATS coming off a bye. I'll take the points.  Dolphins

CAR +4 (1u) - I'm on the Cam Newton train of 4-0 ATS… I wish I had pulled the trigger early @ +6 but I'll take the +4 or anything above 3. Panthers 21-Falcons 24

WAS -1 (1u) - after Sunday you can poke a fork in the Eagles. I'll the division rival coming off a bye at home. Philly's turnovers of 15 are twice that of the Skins 7 a they dominate time of possession vs. the Eagles. Eagles  21-Redskins 28.

WEEK NFL PICKS ATS - SUNDAY OCTOBER 9, 2011

NFL 17-19-1 (-5.6u)
IND -1.5 (2u) - the Colts should be desperate for a victory. Freeney and Mathis will be teeing off on Cassell and the hapless Chiefs. I was impressed with Painter vs the lowly Bucs (even in a losing situation), the Tampa's D backs were torched by Painter, a young QB making his first start and Garçon recorded his regular season career-high in receiving yards and TDs... on two receptions. I'm bettin a decent game vs. the lowlier Chiefs. With Peyton on the sidelines this game, altho not playin, i'm bettin the Colts will be up for this game, especially on this short number. Chiefs 21-Colts 24.

CIN +2.5 (1u) - The wrong team is favored. The rookie Dalton will show improvement as time goes on, already showing some moxie in bringing Cincy back in the 4th qtr. last week. The lowly Jags with their anemic offense (only scoring 39 pts in 4 games) will face a surging Bengal D.  Bengals 27-Jaguars 12.

GB -5.5 (1.5u) - The Falcons had no answer for the lowly Seahawk no-huddle offense last week and now comes Rogers with his own unstoppable no-huddle attack.  Without a passing D to speak of, the Falcons are in for a long day. The 32nd ranked offense of Seattle racked up 28 pts. on the Falcons last week and now comes the 5th ranked offense. Packers 41-Falcons 21,

DET -5.5 (1u) - the only hope for the Bears to prevent a blow-out of epic proportions is to get points via Deveon Hester punt returns.  Cutler's 4 picks in 4 games with a completion percentage of 54% does not bode well vs. the surging Lions.  For a team that allowed the lowly Panthers to accumulate 543 yards last week, i doubt their D will be up to the task of stopping the 2011 Lions.  Lions 27-Bears 6.

NO -6.5 (1.5u) - the better play may be the Over.  Both offenses have been piling up the yards (NO/454 and CAR/440 ypg).  Cam will be looking for another open backdoor, but my bet is that Carolina's 18th ranked redzone scoring percentage (43%) will be its Achilles heel. Saints 33-Panthers 21.

St. Louis has yet to score over 21 points in a game.  A team out of the NFC Worst has no business facing NFC East teams….at least not without a buttload of points behind them....I'm just sayin.  Redskins 28-Rams 15. **WINNER**

SF +9 (2.5u) - the extra week on eastcoast time zone should negate any cross country tiredness, Vernon Davis matches up well against the Eagle D, the niner turnovers have been limited (2 vs. Eagle's 7), Gore is off to a slow start this year, however, he's had 2 100yd games in their last 3 meetings, and Alex Smith (while he's no Joe) currently has a 68.9% completion percentage...2nd in the NFC...so far his mistakes have been limited. I'll take the points and may wait til gametime to pull the trigger..hoping for a 9.5 since it's been rising all week. Forty-niners 14-Eagles 21.  **WINNER**

MIA +7 (2u)- as long as the number stays above 7, I'll pull the trigger. Sparano is 6-1 ATS in 2nd straight road game after a loss in the 1st one, they're also 4-2 ATS on the West Coast the last 8 yrs. I wish I had grabbed the opening line of +9, but I'll settle for 7 before it gets down to 6.5.  Dolphins 17-Chargers 21. LOSS

NO -6.5 (1.5u) - I smell a blow-out of epic proportions....the Jags will be lucky to score 20 points, while the Saints will be flying over the total themselves....at leas t28-33 pts.  Saints 43-Jaguars 14. **WINNER**

MIN -1.5 (1u) - The Chiefs are giving up over 36 ppg, the league's worse while the Vikes will be dominating the trenches, I smell another blowout.  Vikings 28-Chiefs 9. LOSS

DET +1 -(1U) - The Lions are on a roll and seem to be the real deal. They're 12-3-2 ATS in their last 17 conference games and 15-5-2 ATS in their last 22 overall. I'll ride the Lion train til the wheels fall off especially after Dallas' performance the last two weeks. **WINNER**
